Sent by locals, I found this great low key Mexican bakery. The peach turnover, a rare bird was flaky and yummy. Beware- they have a great menu but only start cooking at 10:30 am. Having limited time, I was sure I missed it, but was offered carne asada tacos early. I jumped at it, and they were superb.. some of the best tacos anywhere, big hit of cilantro, I'd go every day if I lived there.
Worth ordering from even right before closing time! I received exceptional service, delicious pastries, and flavorful burritos.
Drove by this small nondescript bakery on the way Portland. What an amazing surprise! I love Bavarian cream donuts., the only donut I like. I had no plans for a donut today but as we were paying for a pastry and a churro, the owner asked if we want a donut, a Bavarian donut, freshly baked. So I did. Omg! It's warm, crunchy on the outside and not too sweet cold creme inside ! The peach turn over was flaky and not too sweet. The caramel churro was still warm and crunchy. Stop by this small bakery if ever you happen to drive by this small town.
This place is soo good! I love all their bakery options but I looove their hot foods too. The tacos are so good. SO GOOD!! I've been back a few times and they have been perfect each time. The meat is so tender and there is so much flavor, and I never get a bunch of gristly or fatty chunks. Often when I eat out the flavor seems to be a bit bland but these guys do it right! They are super friendly too. I got burritos this time and they are huge. One was pork with all the fillings and it weighed in at just under two pounds. Lunch and dinner in one burrito! Definitely recommend stopping here!
I was stopping by on my way back from the peninsula and happen to come across this cute mom and pop shop. I got the pozole and it was delicious! Came with some dried chilies and ground up spices. Worth the try!
